A neighbor contributed a few of the donations in this collection.

While going through my stored items, I found a few that really left me scratching my head.
One was a collection of plaster dental molds – the type the dentist does when you have a crown made. I must have had at least six sets. What on earth possessed me to put these old molds into a box – inside another box – in storage?
In a different container I found a plastic sandwich bag filled with periwinkle shells. They weren’t even in very good condition. Why on earth did I think I should save them?
I found an old letter from someone I don’t even remember. I also found one – only one – paper Chinese lantern cover. It looked as if it were made to be hung around a Christmas light-sized bulb. What? Was I planning to have a very small outdoor party someday?
While I’ve rid myself of these embarrassments, I wonder what I am hoarding now that will make me cringe years later.
As long as you are hoarding biscuits, I say it is time well spent.

Another good way to spend your time is reading Dream Our World! (Plus, proceeds help Murphy’s Biscuit Fund.)
Inside, Geordie and Toby view the world of art from a canine perspective while enjoying a day of unsupervised fun. There are a lot of hidden gems inside Dream Our World, and it is a joy for all ages. Treat yourself to a summer read that is both fun and educational!
Dream Our World, and other fine gifts, are available from my shop at L Bowman Studios.

THERE IS ALWAYS A REASON FOR KEEPING SOMETHING THE REASON HAS JUST GONE AWAY NOW !! SO ALWAYS KEEP AND THEM WHEN NOT NEEDED ANY LONGER MOVE ON !
I like that philosophy! It seems very healthy. π
In your photo…what a great number of donations! π
As for the head-scratchin’ finds…weird, sweet, funny! But I find VERY similar things that I’ve saved over the decades. π I’m sure we have a good reason at the time…but life changes, and so do our reasons for saving. π
If it’s something that can help someone else or make someone else smile then I love to be able to give things away.
One way I find out how weird my stuff is or how cool it is…I show it to my adult kids or my grandkids. They are brutally honest! Like, “Ooh, that’s cool! Can I have it?” or “Yikes! Why did you save THAT?” or “That’s too weird…let it go or better yet throw it in the dumpster.” HA! π π
I agree with Murphy! Hoarding biscuits is THE way to go! π π

Iβm glad to hear that Iβm not the only one to save odd items. Hmm, maybe Iβll have to borrow your family to help me sort the Trash from the Treasures. π
The best place to hoard biscuits is in my tummy! – Murphy
You always find temporary treasures while cleaning, and then they turn to trash.
Our storage company, under new ownership, just increased our rent by almost 30%. I know most of what’s in there, and why. No doubt there is some junk amid the treasures. But it looks like we’ll be dumping it all anyway, after all this time. Oh well, you really can’t take it with you!
Oh my gosh! Iβm so sorry. Thatβs awful. Youβre right that it makes you put different priorities on what is βimportantβ. Can you rent a smaller unit and save money?
I donβt know how much of what you have is memories, but sometimes I take pictures of things before I give them away. I find I am more likely to look at the picture than I am to go through a box to reminisce.
We were already in the smallest unit. We went today and separated the Keepers from the Toss. Some things are bigger than box-size. We’ll hire a hauling company to help us evacuate.
the hardest thing is when something is still good but i havenβt used it and am not likely to. I think i might need it someday! But by then better ones are out and cheaper!
Boy, that thinking sounds familiar!
