No, not that C word.* Not even Christmas. I am afraid I have the other C word – covid. I haven’t had a test to make sure, but from my symptoms it would appear I have omicron. I guess from now on I will have to post using a Ouija Board or spirit box. My biggest disappointment so far is that the Other Side looks much like where I came from. I was hoping for more clouds.
This is the first time I have been sick in a while. The last time was shortly after Geordie died. (Remember those Fever Dreams?) I don’t know if Toby were still grieving or if he were too young to process my being sick, but this puppy will NOT let me out of his sight now. He insists we play ball or share food or hang out together at all times. He is fascinated and amused as my voice comes and goes. He acts as he’s never seen anyone cough before. It is hilarious. Also, I can get nothing done with him glued to my side.
Hey Mom, can we do something? Can we play ball? Wanna share a snack? I would really like to go for a walk. What do you say?
I have been curious if psoriasis might behave any differently if I were sick. People with autoimmune disorders are thought to have very robust immune systems that just get turned around and attack the body instead of invaders. I have wondered if my immune system had something constructive to do if it might stop attacking me. So far that seems to be happening. I no longer look as much like a burn patient, and my joints only hurt about half as much. Hey, I’ll take it.
If anyone has sent us Christmas cards, unfortunately we won’t be able to pick them up until after Christmas ’cause we’re not allowed out in public. We will still appreciate them, though!
I like eatin’ ’em! – Toby

It may be too late to shop for Christmas (and I can’t go to the PO to ship anyway. See above), but this would be a great way to spend that holiday loot that you know you’re going to get!
Dream Our World follows Bitey and Toby as they visit the museum of their dreams. If you haven’t read it yet, it is fun for all ages. (And Toby says it tastes delicious as well. I don’t know; I’ll just have to take his word for it.)

*I do have a cousin who started chemo on Friday. If you have any room in your prayers for him, they would be much appreciated.
Have you tested? There’s also flu going around and other viruses so maybe not Covid. Especially since the Omicron variant often presents much milder than good ole Delta et al. Interesting conjectures about the possible interplay between Covid and psoriasis. Anyway if your psoriasis symptoms are mitigated by whatever’s bugging you that’s a silver lining. If you get queasy go barf in Toby’s cage and yell “Karma!!!” at the top of your voice.
😝 Ha and Ew.
I looked into getting a free test, but around here “free” is “most insurance companies reimburse”. Yeah…no.
If this is a cold, it’s the weirdest one I’ve ever had.
I looked online and found several in your zip code with 0 upfront costs. Go get tested and eliminate the doubt.
I hope you feel better soon. They do free testing at the drug stores. You don’t even have to get out of the car.
Maybe I’ll go. Got nothing on the agenda tomorrow.
The question is, what difference would it make?
Well, you would know, and anyone you interact with would know. Also, it would save you unnecessary future shots, since you’ll get better antibodies from the virus itself. You could get the whole world off your back. I’m kind of hoping to get this variant myself! (We don’t have drive-thru testing here. That would be nice!)
I’ve been hearing to get shots and boosters even if you’ve had it. I am hoping I have it because I believe natural antibodies are more effective.
Odd as this sounds…..hope you get it soon! 👍
😂
SEGET WELL SOON DEAER LADY LOVE YOU MUCH\\ HUGSSSSSSS
The Wicked Witch Of The East
Don’t worry. I’m fine. So happy to hear from you!
Get well (((HUGS))) and ❤
Thanks! I hope to be out annoying people again as soon as my 10 days are up!
That’s THE perfect attitude! 🙂 ❤
Hey, I just wanted to stop by and check in and see how you are doing…?
And how is Toby?
Love, Hugs, Pats, and Rubs to you and Toby from me and Coops! 🙂
Hello! Well, I am still deceased, and Toby is happy as a pig in mud. 😆. (It rained on Christmas, and he made me go out and play in the puddles with him.)
Hope you all had a fantastic, mud-filled holiday too!
We did! And it’s still snowy, rainy AND muddy! 🙂 I think we’re in for this weather through the rest of the week. But, I like winter, so I’m like Toby…I’m happy! 🐖 🙂
I’m sorry you’re sick, please keep us posted as to your progress. Omicron is supposed to be not much worse than a cold – whoever said that has never seen how miserable I am with a cold – so hopefully you’ll be back in top form in a day or so! Also, go antibodies!
How are you doing with all of those Christmas preparations? Have you slept this week?
Sleep is for sissies! I’ve got things under control so far – took forever to melt the chocolate this morning but one batch of candy is dipped and cooling. On to the next batch soon. Most of the shopping is done, cookies may happen later, and since the fudge keeps disappearing, there will be some more made soon!
Toby and I will be at your door as soon as we can to help make that candy disappear! 😆
Sounds like Toby is trying to cheer you up. Such a sweet picture of the little guy! Get well soon!
Geordie used to yell at me when I got sick. This is a welcome change of pace. 😊
Sorry to hear that you are not well….in a way I hope it is Covid and then you can have natural antibodies, but would you need to be tested for a doctor to certify that yu have had it?
I don’t think it matters if you’ve had it or not. You still have to be vaxxed within an inch of your life.
My aunt and cousin crossed paths with some folks who turned out to have omicron, and now they have symptoms too. They are in a city with no available tests, so they can’t say for certain what they have. 🤷♀️
I cannot see the point of the vaccination if you have had the wretched thing! Except money, of course.
And bossiness. I think some are enjoying pushing others a bit too much. ☹️
Too true.
I hope you feel better and can find a free test to take. I am so sorry to hear about your cousin fighting cancer. Chemo is rough.
Thanks. My cousin has a lot to fight for, and I am hoping it helps sustain him. I’m still not myself, but I’m hanging in there!
I stopped by to check in on you and Toby.
How are you doing?
We continue to think of you and pray for you.
We will pray for your cousin, too.
(((HUGS)))
PS…Thank you to you and Toby so much for all the joy you brought us in 2021! ❤ We appreciate you both! ❤ We wish you a happy 2022 with much love, laughter, peace, joy, good health, and good memories made!
🌃🥂🥳🐶🕛🎊🎆
Aw, thank you for the prayers for my cousin. If only he knew how many folks are looking out for him!
Toby is great…enjoying all the rain. Unusually I had some work come in at the end of the year and haven’t been able to post on his behalf.
Hope you and yours are already enjoying a stellar start to the new year! 🥂🍾
