A day after Toby killed that chipmunk. we found the brother in the exact same spot. Either these two weren’t very good at being chipmunks, or this one was so despondent over losing his kin that he allowed the neighborhood kitty to send him to the other side.
Either way, I am hoping that the wires in my car will be safe for a little longer.
You should have let me catch that one too, mom.

OUT HERE IN THE WILDS JAY HAD MICE EAT THE WIRING LOOM OF THE ELANTRA ! SO WE KNOW THE EXPENSE, BUT.. HERE IS A TIP HE HAS FOLOWED ON THE NEW ONE. MOTHBALLS IN SOCKS TIE OFF THE TOPS. PLACE THE SEVERAL SOCKS UNDER THE BONNET (ENGLISH FOR HOOD!!) THE MICE/CHIPPIES ETC DONT LIKE THE SMELL !!

Mothballs…Phew! One year I found 69 pine cones stuffed in my engine compartment. These are creative rodents if nothing else. 😆
I think dryer sheets work as well as mothballs and smell a bit better. 🙂
And they keep your chipmunks static free for weeks!

Are you sure its dead and not just experiencing severe ennui and laying there wishing it could just watch TV and eat alternative foods all day long?
I dunno, it didn’t whine about its life or its health when I picked it up with a scoop and threw it away.
On the other hand, I wouldn’t have said anything either. 🤷♀️
You threw it away? What was all that talk about alternative eating? Chipmunk is an alternative.
I only eat wholemunk, not chipmunk. (Too many preservatives in the chipped stuff.)
