Tobymelon

Every year I end up with some unusual looking vegetables from the garden. This year wasn’t a great growing year, so I only have this offering. I planted the watermelons near the fence so that they would trellis themselves. This one obliged, but insisted on pressing itself into the mesh. To me it ended up looking a bit like Toby.

Here are some Chernobyl-style samples from previous years.

Lemme at ’em! I’ll make short work of those mutant vegetables!

I accidentally learned a lesson the hard way this week. I had a small amount of watermelon with my breakfast, and by evening I was so dizzy and sick that I could barely stand. Turns out that if you are hypotensive, watermelon can make your blood pressure drop dangerously low. (It you have hypertension, though, its combination of citrulline and potassium can help lower your blood pressure!) I spent the rest of the evening chugging water and lying down – a rather sloshy and uncomfortable combination.

Every time something like this happens, I wish I could send a big “Nya! Nya!” to my poopyhead doctor who refused to listen to me.

It’s back to school season…time to expand your horizons and to increase you knowledge of the world of art! Dream Our World provides an opportunity to discuss both classic and modern pieces.

Inside the museum, Geordie and Toby view the world of art from a canine perspective while enjoying a day of unsupervised fun. There are a lot of hidden gems inside Dream Our World, and it is a joy for all ages. Treat yourself to a read that is both fun and educational!

Dream Our World, and other fine gifts, are available from my shop at L Bowman Studios.

Gallery o’ Weird Vegetables

Geordie and I garden in the summer.  Here are some of the stranger veggies we have found growing in there.

A strange tomato sits on a window sill.

Gimme a kiss!

Mutant potato

Chernobyl Snoopy potato with tumors.

Carrots twisted around each other.

Twisted Love Carrots

A mutant bum tomato.

Anatomy Tomato

(I have found that when women look at this, they see a bum.  When guys look at it, they see boobs.)

 A really big carrot.

Mega carrot.

Mallet shaped potato

Maxwell’s Potato Hammer

Potato has mitten hand.

“Hello!”

This one grew with the “hand” sticking up out of the dirt.  It put me in the mind of zombies for some reason…..

Big yellow tomato and regular red tomato.

The red tomato is a regular sized tomato.  The yellow one weighed several pounds.  Before he could take over the world, I turned the yellow one into sauce!
