The Results

Guys! Guys! Guess what? I got my DNA results back today!

*

What do they say? What percentage of aardvark are you?

*

Anyway...

*

The tests say that I am 75% Yorkie and 25% Chihuahua. You know what this means, don't you?

*

You're a Yohuahua?

*

No, I'm a Chorkie!

*

Chorkies are designer dogs! Humans will pay up to $3,000 for one of us.

*

Move over, Y SL. We have a designer brother!

Huh, who would have guessed that Google would come closest?

Wasn’t he from a hoarding situation? Someone was probably breeding and making a ton of money off this combination – my main gripe with the whole designer dog bs. Murphy, I always knew you were special, and worth more to us than any amount of money – but now you can brag about being extra special!

I was thinking the exact same thing as suziecreamcheese in that he wasn’t from a true hoarding situation, but more from a backyard breeder trying to cash in on the designer breed trend. The idea of combining breeds to make a different type of dog isn’t new, but it was more about the function of the dog and not achieving a look. I’m curious, how much does he weigh? He must be tiny.

Murphy is a cutie pie though, so that can be his purpose now! He can be a card carrying cutie pie! 🙂

PS: I’m surprised Geordie was so snarky in his aardvark comment and Toby had to give him stink-eye to set him straight. The snarkiness seems so much more of a Toby trait to me. I must have mis-judged little Toby. Sorry Toby!!!

Geordie always had opinions about everything. Sometimes I let him play the jerk brother.

Murphy was definitely rescued from a hoarding house, but I can tell from his behavior that he wasn’t always there. If someone had been breeding him, they allowed him in the home with them. I found out the other day he recognized a George Foreman grill. It’s funny what he knows and what he doesn’t.

Murphy weighs 15 lbs, but he is trying desperately to weigh 30. That boy loves food!

How are things going with you and Murphy? Haven’t heard from you in a while. With the July 4th Independence Day holiday nearly upon us I imagine you are preparing Murphy a safe room free of banger, zipper and zinger noises. My pup actually isn’t bothered by loud noises (but deer trampling around the backyard does bother her, even if she can’t see them…. she knows they’re there, she knows…) , although I still only celebrate with sparklers, but mostly because they’re pretty and also I don’t understand the attraction of loud noises.

wishing you both a pleasant mid-week day off!

Thank you for checking in on us!
Murphy is becoming more and more of a real boy every day. He hasn’t yet reached the point where he can get in trouble, but we’re working on that.

From the early fireworks we’ve had, Murphy isn’t afraid of them, but he does talk back to them.

Hope you and the Terrier are having a peaceful, patriotic holiday!
