I went to throw away a paper towel tube yesterday, but something stopped me. I realized that I still have an instinct to save cardboard tubes for Geordie to destroy. It’s funny the way these memories pop up at random times.

Me? A destroyer?
(OK, so 10 minutes after this picture was taken, every toy was shredded….)
I still miss that crazy boy.

I get it. It seems as if most of our dogs have been toy shredders.
It’s frustrating at the time, but it’s so much fun in the rear view mirror!
OOOO HHH THE CARDBOARD TUBES YESS
THE MEMORIES FOR ME TOO !
LOVE AND HUGSSS
ME AND THE TRIBE
Funny how you miss that when they grow up. 🥲
i am sure he appreciated it
I’m never sure. Geordie felt entitled to whatever he wanted. I don’t know if he appreciated any sacrifices I made. 😂
Ha! and AW!!!! That face! Geordie’s name and his sweet face bring me joy! 🙂
Yes, no matter how long they’ve been gone, we miss them, think of them, and our instinct is always to do something for them, or something they would like, and then we remember they are gone.
Weirdly, Coop never shred any of his toys. We still have all of his first toys, including his girlfriend, and they are in pretty good condition. Okay, his girlfriend is a little squished, and flattened, in certain places from over 16 years of Cooper-humpin. 😮 😛
One thing Coop loved shredding was corn on the cob husks. When we’d go outside to shuck/husk the corn on the cob, he’d rush out and stand with anticipation that we’d drop one of the husks. (Of course I always dropped one or two for him.) He grab the husk, rush back into the house and shred it into tiny pieces. Ha! He always looked so happy whilst doing that! 😀
(((HUGS))) 🌽❤️❤️🌽
Ha! What a fun “helper” you had! Funny how clumsy we humans are when our pups’ favorite foods are involved. 🤣
How special that you still have Cooper’s toys! I sort of wish I could have kept more of Geordie’s, but he had so many over the years that I would be overrun. ❤️💕 🎾 (But what a way to go ☺️)
🙂 Yes, we kept some. I just like to look at them.
We donated quite a few. (A LOT) Coop was loved my many hoomans ( 🙂 )and received too many toys over the years. We are glad other doggies are getting to play with them and tear them apart if they wish. 😉 😀
yeah, it’s hard. Can be brutal really. Memories from animals, people and, truth be known, a time gone by. bless you if you still have your parents and immediate family. Best we can do is remember the past, live in the present, look toward the future. Hug Murphy. Recycle the cardboard tube. Onward.
I hope your lymes is getting better and you’re enjoying the last bit of summer.
have a nice labor day weekend.
Anony-mouse and The Terrier
Yes, who would have thought that we might someday pine for the 70s? 😂
The Lyme is a real butt-kicker, but I’m working to rebuild strength.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday this weekend!
🤗 We still refer to Toffee as “Hershey” sometimes. They never really leave us.
I know! Murphy gets called Toby if I’m not concentrating! 😆
