Are you sure that in his mind he is being scared in order to make you feel important by comforting the normally superior animal?
I don’t think Murphy has that much respect for me! 😂

i get it sister. Dogs get scared depending on what has happened. Ours want to be right next to us in a storm. I think it comforts us and them to meet their needs.
I’ll take my doggy cuddles where I can get them!

Maverick hates thunder and lightning – he won’t let me comfort him. Makes me sad to see him scared, so I just tell him it’s okay, go to your safe place
It hurts us when we can’t help them. 😢

Poor Murphy. He looks so scared. He does seem to take comfort in being held in your lap.
Nox did not like thunderstorms and needed to be held by Bruce. He would keep the big growling world from taking a bite out of her.
That is such a sweet memory! Daddies are good at keeping the monsters away.
I’m not sure how much comfort Murphy takes from me, but I love the excuse to hug him. 🥰
He wouldn’t let you hold and hug him if it did not provide some comfort. 🙂

Coop didn’t mind the rain noises…but at the slightest thunder he was up on my lap. 🙂 And he stayed until long after the thunder went away.

Sometimes Murphy is scared of rain, sometimes not. Sometimes thunder scares him, sometimes not. I wish I understood the pattern.

Cooper liked to sit on my lap a lot. Thunder or a quiet day…and I always enjoyed it. 🙂
He, also, liked to sleep with his face/head on my chest. 🙂 Holding him were some of my fave times. 🙂 ❤️

I dream a lot about Coop. Had another dream featuring him last night. Sometimes the dreams are sad. Sometimes they are just normal. But always the next day my missing him and my longing for him escalates. again. 😦
😭. I’m sorry for the hurt that can come after one of these visits. It’s so special that you guys are that closely connected that you can feel him, he loves you enough to watch over you. Your souls have a special bond. 🥰
