I’m sorry. Were you still talking?
************************
I’ve had to see the eye doctor a number of times in the past months. During my last visit, the doctor asked me a bunch of questions then declared, “This Bell’s Palsy isn’t acting the way it should”. Yay. It feels like someone might finally be hearing me. I guess other underlying conditions can exacerbate the palsy, and that is what she is considering. Paws crossed that in the coming months I get some relief.

Mothers’ Day is coming fast. Consider giving your mom something handmade to show her how much you care. Handmade gifts such as this Rose Cross Stitch Afghan are available from my shop at L Bowman Studios.

UGSSS
Aw, thank you for the hug! ❤️
I have had to step up to using the Soothe ointment (basically petroleum jelly) day and night to try to ease the effects of the ocular rosacea. On the plus side, the OR does seem to be easing up. Yay! 🎉
Coop and I are crossing our paws for you. We, too, want you to get relief and healing.
We’re so sorry you are going through so much. 😦
Please remember we care and you are in our love, thoughts, and prayers.
That your sense of humor and wonderful art skills are intact is so encouraging to us! We applaud your good attitude, too! 🙂
(((HUGS))) ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh dear, you think too highly of my scribble. ☺️.
I’ve found that washing my eye lids several times a day plus warm compresses is helping a lot. If you ever find yourself with this issue, go ahead and use the compresses often. It makes a big difference.
Murphy sends hugs and sniffs to little Cooper! 💕 (And we hope that Cooper is feeling well.)
It sounds as if finally a doctor is using its brain rather than checking off boxes on a diagnosis script. I do hope this means a better outcome is on the cards.
Me too! There is so much I can’t do and keep up with when my eyes hurt this bad.
When I was a child, my parents had my tear ducts “enlarged” to alleviate the “excess” tears running down my face (I was actually an allergy sufferer). As an adult, I suffered from dry eye syndrome, and I can commiserate about the discomfort. However, my current eye doctor told me that the tear ducts can kind of get clogged with thickened material. He prescribed resting with a warm compress on my eyes, and periodically tightly squinching my eyes to express the crud. It worked wonders and was free. Which was great after years of expensive and ineffective treatments. I don’t know that it will help you, but I offer the story just in case it may be of value.
Should have said the ducts from the tear secretion glands can get clogged.
Funny, you wouldn’t think that could happen, but it can. 🤔
I recently started doing frequent warm compresses. You’re right: they do wonders! I am grateful to have a break from the pain and hope you have been enjoying comfortable vision as well!
You mom may have to use whitening strips on you to see you in the dark.
Mom already makes me wear a reflective collar. – Murphy
Leslie, I hate all of this for you, but glad you’re getting some relief with the compresses. And hope for common-sense care from your doc!
Aw, thanks! This sure makes me grateful for the ordinary days. 😊
Glad to hear the ocular rosacea is better. Sometimes physical therapy for the facial muscles can help with Bell’s palsy. Healing thoughts and prayers for you!
Glad the ocular rosacea is a little better – may it continue to improve! Mayo Clinic says that sometimes physical therapy for the facial muscles can help with Bell’s palsy. Sending healing thoughts and prayers for you!
Hmm, I’ll have to look into physical therapy. That darned BP sure is bugging me.
I hope you get some answers soon and start to feel better. 💐
Me too!
Hope you are feeling well also. No more falling! 😊
My bruises are black now. They look spectacularly awful. Bruce cringes every time he sees them. My back has started to recover, but my arm is very sore. Just lightly touching the bruise on my arm hurts a lot.
Ouch! I’ve heard witch hazel helps to reduce bruising. Have you ever tried it?
I have not. I’ve been putting Absorben (sp?) Jr. on them. It has helped with the soreness and pain.
At least you bruise so you can get sympathy for your owies. For some reason I don’t bruise easily… ☹️
Glad the Absorben is helping!
Nox has no sympathy for me at all! It is, “pick me up! Carry me! Feed me! Where’s my water! Let me trip you!”
😂. She sounds like Geordie!
Quite belated here – The Terrier thanks you and Murphy for the love. She really is a true terrier and will take all the pets and pats as long as my arms hold out and don’t go numb. Even then I soldier through and keep on keeping on.
I’m sorry that you are going through so many eye issues. It finally sounds like you have a doctor who is willing to tackle things. It seems like you’ve seen so many specialist, but with pretty close to no results. The Bell’s Palsy seems like such a strange thing in that it occurs, is self-limiting, then goes away. If it’s not behaving properly (naughty, naughty palsy!!!), then whatever else is additionally/concurrently happening may be figured out by the current physician. The best doctors are those who are willing to tease apart a mystery,… and clearly you are mysterious!
Did you have any luck getting sweet little Murphy insurance? The Terrier has Healthy Paws. It does cover specialist, so that is nice. We’ve been to the ER a couple of times and to OSU for surgery, so you can go out of network (Ha!). It does seem to be worth it. The (sad) joke around here is that The Terrier has better insurance than the humans.
well wishes to you and little forehead scritches for Murphy!
Anony-mouse and The Terrier
Oh how you sacrifice for your little girl to keep her desire for hugs sated!
Unfortunately Murphy is still without coverage. I have barely had time to sit down lately let alone do research. In the meantime, I’m giving him all the love and healthy lifestyle that I can.
🙂
Just stopping by with some (((HUGS))) for you and some loving PATS for Murphy! You are both in our thoughts.
❤️❤️
Thank you for thinking about us! Every day Murphy is turning more and more into a real boy. As for me, this eye pain keeps me from the computer. I look forward to it ending.
How is little Cooper doing? Hopefully he is a happy, healthy little guy. 😊❤️💕
You’re welcome!
So good to hear about Murphy! 🙂
So sorry to hear about your continued eye pain. 😦 I hope you get healing soon.
Actually Cooper got ill (AGAIN! 😦 ) and put on antibiotics. One day after the antibiotic dosage was complete he was ill again. We will watch him this week and see if we need to schedule another vet visit. Poor little old-man Coop. 😦
Oh my goodness! Do you know what is causing his problems? Living on antibiotics is no fun. Give Cooper some hugs and love from us! ❤️💕
Tummy troubles. He’s had them almost continually for a long time now. 😦 The vet switched up his meds some time back…we thought for awhile that was helping. But now it seems like he’s back to ugh-iness. 😦
Will do! Thank you for always caring about him! That means so much to us! ❤️
Hmm, perhaps stress is bothering his tummy. Maybe you need to get him a kitty to teach Cooper to his mellowest self. ☺️🐈
Ha! He does likes kitties!
He’s actually a very calm, laid-back, easy-going guy…always has been.
The vet says it’s related to his Cushings Disease and his old age.
Ouch. So sorry about the Cushings Disease. Hopefully with Cooper’s loving and patient personality, it won’t be too much of a hardship for him. Sending gentle hugs along with some chicken and rice! ❤️💕
Thank you so much! He LOVES chicken and rice!
