Forecasters were predicting two weeks of rain with one, brief, dry afternoon in the middle. I got home from work on the middle day and ran outside to deal with the lawn before the next round of storms came. But what should occur – like a kick to the a** – but a mower that refused to cut any grass.
I spent hours on the phone with the mower company because it was under warranty. They agreed it was faulty battery and said they would send a new one. The only problem is that they send at their own speed – not the speed of well-watered weeds growing in springtime. All I had access to was a string trimmer, so I went out and cut a path for poor Murphy like the one I shoveled for him in the snow in winter.

I don’t like the tall grass. Can I poop in the house?
(Murphy really did pull me over to the neighbor’s well-manicured lawn to do his business whenever anyone wasn’t looking.)
The sad thing is that we’ve had droughts the past two summers, so the mower barely got used. With 90% of the cost of a mower being the battery, this seems like a lousy deal.

HUGSSSS
I SPENT 4 HOURS MOWING YESTERDAY !
At least you got yours done!
maybe the battery died of boredom
BOL! I wouldn’t be surprised. Lots of things die of boredom around here. 😂
Yes, one time I gave poison ivy to Dad. He picked me up after I visited some. My super power is finding poison ivy. I’m not allergic to it and I like how it smells. Dad says only people and guinea pigs are allergic.
If Mom thinks I’ve been in poison ivy, she’ll give me a bath with Technu.
Wow, humans and guinea pigs?! I didn’t know! Can daddy eat cashews or pistachios?
I guess you’ll be disappointed when mom finally gets all that ivy out. ☹️
Neither did we until Bruce researched poison ivy in hopes of finding ways to kill it without us having to pull it up. Dad can eat both cashews and pistachios.
I’ll miss smelling it, but I won’t miss the baths Mom gives me!
My mom is allergic to poison ivy and can eat cashews but not pistachios. Weird how those allergies can turn up. 😆
Ha ha! I don’t think any dog misses baths!
It is strange how allergies are.
Mom says I am very good at taking baths and she gives me a treat when she is done bathing me. I still hate baths!
Poor Murphy!
He was much happier once I cut a path for him.
Murphy,
What a great mom you have. She was able to make a spot for you to go potty.
My dad needs to mow again already. It was fine on Friday, but Mom says the rain all day on Saturday kick started the crazy lawn. The false dandelions’ flower stalks hit me in the face when I went for a walk today. I can’t see them,so they startled me. Mom has been uprooting the false dandelions when she gets a chance, but she seems to be busy with that poison ivy plant these days.
Nox
Does your family have to worry about you getting poison ivy on your fur? Can you give it to them if they touch you?

UGHS on the mower issue! Hope it gets resolved pronto!
Grass waits for no one. It just grows and grows and grows. Eek…so do weeds! 😮
How sweet to cut a path for Murphy to do his duty! Ha, and doody! It is no fun to try to do one’s business in tall grass…yes, you never know what is in the grass with you. 😮 I think I see Tigger! 😉 😀
I hope you get some good rains this summer. Drought is so scary.
(((HUGS))), PATS, RUBS, and ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hope you are having good rains this year too!
Around here, not only the weeds but the rabbits are growing like crazy. I’m not thrilled about either. 😠
Murphy was much happier after he got his path. (His path at the expense of mommy’s dignity. I guess I was quite the laughingstock on the street.). 🙄
Well, pooh pooh on those people. You did a great thing for Murphy! ❤️
Pooh pooh! I love it! – Murphy
The Bear is mowing for the second time in a couple weeks – our grass is growing like crazy too. Thankfully, both mowers are working just fine – for once
Hope your good luck continues! 🍀
