Isostatic Rebound (or When “One Thing Each Day” Goes Right)

Isostatic rebound occurs when land that was compressed under massive weight gradually rises back to its original elevation.

Mommy, remember when our street used to be level?

We’ve had two pickups so far this year. Surely things are neater than they used to be…right?

Wow, I can hardly “like” this when I have no idea what it even means, but it does not sound good. Finally at long last, the fallen trees from the great ice storm have finally been picked up (albeit after we paid $3500 to have them moved from our yard and driveway to the road) and then waited weeks for pick up.

And why is your street not level any more…or dare I ask?

I have been doing the One Thing Each Day challenge in an effort to declutter. When I come across items I think are good enough to donate, I call the Veterans, and they pick them up. (That is what is in the photos.)

My joke is that I’ve given/thrown away so much that the ground under the house is rebounding like it does when a glacier melts. (What can I say? I liked Geology in school. 😆)
