Last week I bought Toby a puzzle toy. When I got home I broke up a biscuit and hid the pieces for him. He was so thrilled to “hunt” for his treats that his tail wagged the whole time he played with it. Then he tried to pull it apart to see if he could find more food inside. (He reminded me of a kid at Christmas returning to the tree in case more presents had appeared.)
The next day I decided to hide his kibble diner in the puzzle. While he was willing to go along, I could tell that Toby wasn’t happy about having to work for his meal. It made me wonder what our coyote neighbors might think if they saw my spoiled boy.
Is there any sadder sight than a puppy with an empty dish?

AAAWWW POOR BOY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Poor spoiled boy! 😂
I suspect the puzzle toy would not last two minutes with the thugs here….biscuits inside….can’t get them out…take bowl outside and beat it to death on the posts of the pergola. Result.
😂😆🤭😆😂
Geordie was a lot like your pups. He learned that if he picked up a puzzle and shook it hard enough, the food would come flying out. Technically he did solve the puzzle….🙄
My husband had that attitude to some of tests he was given. One was poking sticks into holes..timed, and then removing them…timed. He put them in and then overturned the stand. Doctor horrified.
😂😆😂😆😂
Just remember that karma is cruel. The next time you visit your favorite coffee shop and they put your order in a puzzle container…well, turnabout is fairplay.
As long as I get my donuts, I don’t care. 😂
Aw, nothing sadder, Toby! 😦
I love the puzzle! And love hearing about you working the puzzle! 😀
Hey, Toby…
May you always have a full bowl of food when it’s time to eat, plenty of socks to hide, a warm comfy bed, plenty of toys, green beans for snack, plenty of lovin’, and the perfect place to leave a pooh! Ha! 😀
(((HUGS))) for your Mom! 🙂
PATS and RUBS for Toby! 🙂
I wish the same thing for my little guy! ⭐️
❤️❤️❤️
The dog in the window saying “wussses” made me laugh
That was mommy’s feeble attempt to draw a coyote. 🙄 – Toby.
Glad to make you laugh! 😊
The picture of Toby with the food bowl is just adorable! Nox loves her puzzle toys. Like Toby, Nox was very disappointed when we put food in them instead of bits of treats.
At least Nox and Toby were just disappointed. Geordie got mad when I used kibble. (Like the Hulk, you wouldn’t like him when he’s angry. 🙄)
I can just picture it, a huge, green Geordie shaking his head and pawing at the puzzle!
Small brown Geordie was scary enough when he gave you “that look”!
Toffee barks: Puzzles are fur game time, bowls are fur din-din. End ob dizcussion.
Amen Brofur! – Toby
Puzzle games are our best friends round here, but Maverick, like Toby, is not impressed when I use regular kibble. That’s way too much work for a dog that isn’t interested in regular food
What does Maverick like? Anything that is good for him?
He likes broccoli and carrots, and cookies
That’s a pretty healthy diet. At least his favorite food isn’t dirt like Geordie’s was. Carrots should be easy to hide in a puzzle. 😊
But he can’t live on that. He’s just weird!
I can sympathize. Mine is weird but in a different way. Hope Maverick will eat some protein for you! 😊
He isn’t losing weight or lacking energy so I try not to worry!
I may get banished or shunned for typing this out loud, but is there any chance Toby is part cat? Y’know with you being his footman servant and all?
P.S. I’ve had four cats over the years.
I guess it’s only fitting for a bit-of-a-witch to have a cat. 😆
(Real life kitties make me sneeze, so instead I have woofing ones.)
haha! A bit-of-a-witch… that’s a good thing, right? 🙂
Absolutely!😆
