This week, I heard a terrible crash and found Murphy on top of his kennel. In real life all I did was laugh and tell him to get down. I didn’t want him helping himself to his treats, but at the same time I was so happy to see him confident enough to get in trouble.

You’re not really mad at me, are you?

(This is one of the early pictures I took of Murphy. Back then he always looked so frightened. )

Join Bitey and Toby in some mischief before Murphy arrived when you pick up a copy of Dream Our World. Inside Geordie and Toby view the world of art from a canine perspective and enjoy a day of unsupervised fun!

oohhh
AND YES !! TAKES A BIT OF CONFIDENCE AND SECURE FEELING TO GET INTO MISCHIEF!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSS
He’s done a few slightly naughty things lately. I doubt a mom has ever been so proud!
OMG!!! 🙂 With a sweet face like Murphy definitely has, who could EVER be mad at him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And he’s just trying to be the snack-getter, to help out! 😉 😛
I hope he keeps being feisty! It means he has found his safe and loving home!!! 🙂
Oh, Murphy, I can relate…I was the youngest in a family of MANY siblings…and some of them told me not-so-good-stuff to do. 😦
(((HUGS))), PATS and RUBS!!! 🙂 ❤️
Nah….big sibs would never do something like that. Mwahaha! 😈
I’m looking forward to more (good) trouble as time goes by. 😊
(Hope you are doing well, Coop!)
Just stoppin’ by with some (((HUGS))), PATS, and RUBS for you and for Murphy! Hope you are both doing well!! ❤️❤️
Aw, thank you for thinking of us! You are so sweet (Actually mom is working on a post in different window.)
Hugs to you all!
oh murphy😂can’t get mad at that face!!
So you’re saying I can get away with anything? Good to know!
If he’s naughty, he’s settled!
Not quite naughty yet, but getting there!
Oh gosh, I love you, Murphy!!!
Before you do something make sure there are angels on your shoulder giving you advice
Murphy needs to check for the halos and beware of the horns. 😆
haha 😆 I can only guess that you’re an older human sibling yourself! My advice to Murphy is to hang in there and outsmart those oldsters!
Dear little Murphy, You may be the youngest and have certain disadvantages, but you have survived a lot. You can outwit your bigger brothers and will!
signed,
Anony-mouse (the youngest of the pack) and The Terrier (a middle child)
[PS: yes, I do know The Terrier’s birth order when her litter was born.]
Someday Murphy will have his revenge!
I loved this story. Murphy is getting to be a happier dog. Murphy – One time Nox climbed up onto the dining room table and made off with a stick of butter. What a mess! Luckily, we caught her before she ate any of the butter.
Oh my gosh Nox, you’re supposed to take the chicken not the butter! 😂
Nox wishes it had been chicken on the table.
Hi again,
I was wondering if you might be able to recommend any other blogs similar to yours that I’d be able to read as a non-wordpress member. You do have a very nice thing here and perhaps there are others out there like you and your boys.
Another quick thought: be sure to look into pet-insurance for Murphy. In this day and age of higher vet bills and specialist in the field (Murphy may benefit from a cardio-pulmonologist) you might find it to be the best financial decision. I know I used to think that if I squirreled away the cash for vet bills that by the time I do that (instead of paying premiums) that I would always have enough cash on hand to pay the bills up front. HAHAHA, it is to laugh!! Not even close. The actual basic veterinary cost, plus specialist far outstrips the same dollar amount of the premiums alone. The math just doesn’t make sense anymore. Growing up, when everything was cheaper, it made perfect sense. Inflation is a crusher. Anway… I do recommend a pet insurance policy. It will mean that the cost will not be a barrier to healthcare.
Also… fun fact: did you know that they have holter monitors for dogs?!! It’s pretty nifty! They wear them as little doggie vests!
Let me know about any blog recommendations. If that’s not allowed per wordpress, then I understand.
Have a glorious evening with your sweet boy!

Most of the dog blogs I used to read have stopped publishing. One who still posts from time to time is Negotiating With Biscuits. His stories are a great read.
Insurance is a good suggestion. I’ll have to see what is available for a pup with a pre-existing condition (and a questionable age).
I like Coyote Vests for dogs. They do nothing for their hearts, but they are a hoot to look at. 😆
Thank you! I googled the blog title and it took me to an entry that seemed to be random. I was able to source out more entries once within the blog itself, but never really found anything in chronological order. He’s a very good writer. The dogs’ perspective from his Labs is great. We had a lab and she was quite clever. The entry about the sandwich really hit home. We had a few sandwiches disappear!
The coyote vest are great, such a hoot to see, indeed! I never knew these existed. I knew about spiked collars for livestock dogs, but never knew about protecting wee puppies and small dogs. I do love Great Pyrenees dogs and had a new respect for them after learning a solitary dog, sporting a medieval looking spiked collar, could take down a pack of coyotes. I’ve been on hawk watch when The Terrier was a baby, but I’m pretty sure had she had such a vest she would have stumbled and somehow impaled herself on the spikes. Now at 26 pounds it’s safe to say that she’s in the clear from flying predators. Last summer a magnificent red-tailed hawk was electrocuted on our street. I swear I saw the chipmunks and squirrels celebrating. We collected him, placed him out in our yard near the 125 foot Norfolk Pines for his mate to soar overhead so she could see him and understand. She stopped crying out and looking for him only then. We kept him safe overnight and the Game Commission came the following day to take him away. It was a sad day, unless one happened to be a chipmunk. Perhaps they need really little spiky vests, too! (I’m actually on the hawks’ side when it comes to little Disney-esque rodents).
Keep up the nice work on your blog and give Murphy head scritches from his internet admirers!
Anony-mouse and The Terrier~
😢. I am so sorry to hear about the hawk. I’m glad you helped his mate through the trauma.
