Actually this post was a way for me to get acquainted with a new computer. My old one was 15 years young (not even old enough to drive *sniff*), and I was afraid it would give out on me during tariffs/chip shortage – name your disaster of choice to make prices higher. Of course my old software won’t work on the new system, so I have been experimenting with replacements. What a mess.
Bitey Dog might have a different look since old tools are no longer available. Maybe I’ll take this opportunity to make the boys all Westies so I don’t have to worry about colors anymore.
Don’t you even think about it.

New computers are always a challenge. It is a shame your tools don’t work on the new computer.
They do it on purpose so you have to buy new. You know, ‘cause every American is dripping with money, and we can easily afford $40 more per month for every utility, and subscription software…..easy peasy. 🙄

We’ve skipped telling the month-long, yes month-long tale of mom trying to set up this computer. So many blue screens! So many black screens! She had to do so many things she barely understood just to troubleshoot whatever had gone wrong. (In the end it turned out to be two things, and that is why it was so tough to figure out.). After this experience she does not feel very smart or capable…and she’s seriously considering learning more about Linux. 🙄
Yes, I understand. Dealing with computers sometimes make me feel like my pea-brain is actually an orchid-seed-brain. 😉
