Each time I got Lyme, my hair fell out. When it started to grow back this last time, I cut my nearly waist-length hair to a chin length bob to even things out. I did this right after Halloween, and nobody noticed. Just three days ago, someone I see practically every week said, “Oh, did you cut your hair?”
I’m starting to wonder if I have the power of invisibility.

I give up on hairdressers here…..so I rely on visits to London where I am transferred from the wild woman of Borneo to something approaching respectability.
Why are the hairdressers so bad in your area? Were they trained during the 80s? How often can you get to London?

Yes! Even buying clips or barrettes is difficult because the products are geared for those with thick hair. Harrumph.

Did you wear your hair up in a ponytail? Did you have bangs? I’ve noticed that long hair being worn as a ponytail comes across as short hair. If you had bangs, that would increase the illustration of short hair when wearing a ponytail. People will develop a mental image of you and even if you change up (hair color, happened to me) they don’t notice details.

I had to stop wearing a ponytail in 2019. Since then I most wore a braid with bangs. Still, it was a looong braid! (I cut my hair and got a different car at the same time, and nobody noticed. Either!)
What color did you change from/to? My only change was to gray! 😂
I was brown, blonde, brown, blonde for many years, red, a different shade of red, blonde, and grey
with a lot of white.

I’ve had that happen where my hair was cut from very long to short and it took people awhile to notice. That always cracked me up. I’m sure it’s because people do NOT pay attention to us as much as we think they do…they are too focused on/concerned about their own appearance. Ha! 😀 Of course they pay attention when it’s something we are trying to hide…like a zit! Ha! 😀

You’re so right about how we see others. Maybe it’s a good thing so we don’t find ourselves being critical. (Ooh, but think about court testimony. 🤔. I guess that’s why eyewitnesses aren’t considered reliable.)

As for how we see people and how they see us…I always try to look people the eyes, and really pay attention to what they are saying, when we are talking, so I’m sure I miss out on facial details or clothing-stuff at times. 🙂
