What Worries Me

Do you know what I'm worried about? Nuclear war? The CCP buying US land without citizens knowledge? Encroaching Sharia law? Hungry wolves?

No. Well, yes, but no. Next week I have cataract surgery, and I'm afraid I will no longer be able to hide from myself. Huh?

For years I haven't looked at myself. I don't wear my glasses in the shower. I don't need them to brush my hair. Without my glasses I'm just a colorful blur. After surgery I won't be able to hide from my reflection. I'll have to own my ugliness.

You're nocturnal, right? Then maybe you're a vampire and won't have a reflection.

Aw, you always know how to make me feel better.
