Not Feeling Well / Stolen Valor

Actually, I caught a stomach bug. Last night I had pudding poops and some got stuck to my fur.

Leave me alone. I don’t feel well. ☹️

I am presuming this is a stomach virus Murphy caught, but I don’t know for sure. The vet said if he isn’t feeling at least a little better by tomorrow I should bring him in. In the meantime, I am supposed to fast him. This is possibly harder for me than it is for him. I worry that he is going to think I am starving him like the hoarders did. (If mommy had tears, she would be crying right now.)

One Thing Each Day (or The Mysterious Case of the Blue Bunny)

Where is my toy bunny? Did mom get rid of it on her cleaning binge? No, it's right here. Remember? You buried it under invisible dirt.

I’m not sure you can find it, but there is a toy bunny hidden in this picture.

For inspiration with my One Thing Each Day Challenge, I watched an episode of British Hoarders. What a difference between that and the American version! The American show has drearily sad background music, focus on the mental illness side of the issue and allow only 3 days for total cleanup. In the British show they feature upbeat music while an antiques broker and a home organizer are brought to help the client. The broker looks for possible hidden gems while the organizer teaches the homeowner how to do better. Then they leave for several weeks, and the homeowner is expected to do his or her homework and clean up the mess.

One month has passed, and I am keeping up with my de-cluttering. Despite my happiness over my progress, I’m waiting for the day when I go to look for something that I’ve always had, and it isn’t there. Or at least it isn’t where it usually is. How much time will I waste searching? Maybe Murphy can help me find it.

You can wish all you want, but unless it’s a biscuit we both know it ain’t gonna happen.

The Chilly Chorkie

What? I AM 24% Chihuahua you know!

Seriously? Do you realize how much time you’ve wasted drawing this stupid thing just to make fun of me for needing a coat?

*

My Cairn boys were built for winter. In fact they didn’t like any temperature above 55′. Murphy, despite his long, luxurious fur, is a summer guy. The poor little thing nearly froze to death when our temps dropped this week.

Unfortunately, the coat that fits him best is a pink hand-me-down. I keep trying to tell him it is light red, but he insists that even he is not that colorblind. Hmm, maybe Santa will have a new coat on the sleigh for Murphy…

I may be partially colorblind, but I can still smell girl dog on this coat.

Poindexter

Oh geez, what happened to you? Mommy seems to think I'm nearsighted because I bark and growl at her every time I see her in a hat.

I can’t believe you think I might be nearsighted.

What have I ever done to give you that impression?

Actually, a number of people have commented that they think Murphy might not have perfect vision. Starvation can affect the eyes, so it is possible. To me it is funny that he never seems to recognize me in a hat even though I wear them all the time.

I dunno…I think my glasses look good on him!

Should Doogie Run For Office?

While taking pictures off my camera, I noticed that Doogie had a lot of qualities we see in most politicians.

He is willing to blame others.

He claim other’s things as his own.

He’s been caught fooling around on film.

He likes to conduct business in the dark.

He’ll turn his back on family and friends if it suits his needs.

He’s willing to let others pull his strings.

With these qualifications, surely someone will designate him as our next candidate!

I wasn’t sure what would happen if I let Murphy into the garden. Sadly, I created a monster. Now that he knows food comes from there, he wants to go all the time. It wouldn’t be such an issue if he didn’t get a barely passing score from the vet at his last visit. Chubby Chorkie here needs to be careful of his calories.

Don’t just stand there, open the gate woman!

Thanks to Murphy’s sad origin story, he gets pretty much whatever he wants which in this case means a lot of time sniffing overripe tomatoes. (If only his manly dog scent would scare the bunnies away.)
