Happy Anniversary!

Today is Bitey Dog’s 6th year anniversary at Word Press.  I am sure that somewhere Geordie is very proud of what he started.

Happy Cairn terrier pup

Yup.  I’m happy!

Go away. I'm sleeping.

Toby, on the other paw, has a more casual attitude.

If you would like to donate a copy of Dream Our World to your local library, please feel free to do so.  I have heard nothing from my local library despite repeated attempts to contact them about the catalog number.  If you do donate, the WorldCat number will still need to be assigned.

Don’t forget to pick up a copy of Dream Our World.  Inside, Bitey and Toby visit the museum of their dreams and view the world of art from a canine perspective all while enjoying a day of unsupervised fun.

Dream Our World is available from Amazon and from at least one museum!

Today Dream Our World went on sale at a museum!  The boys finally got their paw in the door.  Just doing a little celebrating.

Today is also Day 6 of me going without my glasses.  I’ve got to say that so far I like it.  That may change after a while as I find that I can’t use the computer or drive.

I never gave much thought to eyeglass frames, but there are a lot of choices out there.  There a different metals, organic/inorganic acetates, wood, bone, horn, shell and bamboo.  There are even companies that will custom craft your frames based on measurements you take of your face with your phone.

While it seems interesting to have eyeglass frames custom made in Europe, I  worry what would happen if I ever needed a repair or a new prescription.  I started going to an optician years ago so that I could have same-day service rather than having to wait 2 weeks for my frames to be sent to a lab.  How much worse it would be if the company were overseas.

So far, I have made no frame decisions but continue doing my eye exercises every day and avoid a lot of computer work.  Toby likes it because we are spending more time outside.  I enjoy looking at trees and buildings and hillsides to challenge myself as to how much detail I can see.

Don't worry, Mom. I'll help.

Maybe soon you won’t be tripping over me when we go out, Batty?

Double Oops

My last post was about Bitey and Toby’s book finally being assigned a card catalog number.  I found out I was mistaken about an hour after I posted, so I hurried to hide the post before I could embarrass myself.  Oops, instead I just made the post so that no one could comment on it. If I were my own employee, I would fire myself.

Anyway, please forget any mention of Bitey making it into the library system.  He’s not there yet.

Catch Up On My Reading

While I am injured, maybe I can catch up on my reading.

Mom, he keeps stealing my toys! This little twerp is hogging all the sunshine!

Come here so I can beat you up! Yeah, well I'm gonna go pee on your bed!

I'm hungry! When's dinner? I gotta go potty! Then again, maybe I won't.....

Two Cairn terriers asleep on the floor.

Oh come on.  We weren’t that bad!

Yes you were.

To find out how rotten Cairn terrier brothers can be, pick up a copy of Poopiter!

Bitey Dog and Toby in POOPITER

Poopiter is an illustrated telling of the boys’ first year together.

To find out how good they can be, read Dream Our World.  In Dream Our World,  Geordie and Toby visit the museum of their dreams.

What Would Happen If….

I wonder what my boys would do at a museum? ....and so concludes our broadcast of famous museums around the world.

In Dream Our World, you are invited on an extraordinary journey of the imagination where Bitey and Toby visit the museum of their dreams. The exhibits at the MOTI have the unique twist of being depicted as the pups see them. And how is that? With the boys front and center, of course!

Bitey and Toby’s story is told in pictures, not in words. Let the paintings speak to you. Let your mind tell the story. Most of all, have fun!

I am both happy and sad to have this book done. I have been working on it so long that it feels like a part of me.  Inside, I have constructed a world made of pieces of my neighborhood mixed with drawings of my pups’ actual personalities.  If you read it, I hope that you enjoy the adventure!

Sign of the Times

Beware! Guard Cairn Terrier On Duty

For some reason, this makes me laugh.

(This was the work of the little one.)

Bitey and his new usurping little brother will soon be starring in the illustrated Poopiter.  I made some corrections to the manuscript this morning and sent it off this afternoon.  If the proof comes back OK, it will be ready for publishing possibly this week.  Stop by often for updates on the book’s progress!

Butterflies

I have a friend who says that puppies' souls come back to visit their mommies as butterflies.

Butterflies 2

Perhaps that is why my boys enjoy chasing butterflies so much…they sense a kindred spirit.

Coming Soon!  Bitey and his little brother Toby will have their own book.  I got a proof back from the printer yesterday, but there had been a problem with compression when the manuscript was sent.  I fixed that and resubmitted, so hopefully it will be good enough to approve next time!
