It’s Stinky Toby’s birthday. Happy Birthday little boy!
Happy, happy birthday
From all of us to you!
And on this very special day
May all your dreams come true!
Presents on the table
And folks who give a hoot.
Now blow out your candles
And kindly please don’t toot!

Copies of Dream Our World are still available! Don’t forget all of those friends and family who have birthdays that fall around the holidays. You can get them their very own copy of Bitey and Toby’s adventure. Inside, the boys visit the museum of their dreams.
This is not my recipe. I found it on the internet and have no idea where.

Sweet Potato Cookies
2 1/4 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup sweet potato puree
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cup toasted pecans, chopped
Mix dry ingredients. Cream butter, potato, sugar and egg. Mix with dry ingredients, then add pecans. Scoop 1” balls. Bake 400 degrees for 10 min until set. Can be glazed.
I have to use alternative ingredients, so my cookies are brown rice flour with coconut oil and very little sugar. To me, they remind me of Snickerdoodles in that they have a mild flavor and a medium texture (not hard, not soft). If you wanted to get adventurous and put mini chocolate chips in them, that would probably be good too!
If you try them, you’ll have to let me know how they turn out. 😊
🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪
If you try them, send me some. Dogs like Christmas cookies too!
I don’t usually bake cookies because…well….I’m lazy.
I still have an abundance of sweet potatoes from the garden, so I decided to try out a new recipe – Sweet Potato Cookies.
A surprise arrived when I went to make the cookies – a double yolked egg! I have no idea if they are good luck or not, but they did make the cookies extra cholesterol-y.
I got this cookie plate probably 30 years ago, but I never got to use it until now. I just felt like celebrating that the puppy and kitty finally got to watch for Santa.
Don’t I get to have some? I like sweet potatoes.
To make your celebrations even more festive, add this hand-stitched Chicken and Egg Bread Cloth to your table!
Foods will taste even better when their presentation is enhanced with hand made care. Chicken and Egg Bread Cloth is available from my shop.

Mommy’s boots and puppies’ boots
After a day of play.
They go with us on our ADventures
and then by the door they stay.
Climbing hills, breaking trails,
They go wherever we go.
We take them off when we say goodnight
And dream of more days of snow.
Ooh, tough break Toby.

Now, like the rest of us, he is waiting for a thaw. *
