…fly through my window!

Note, little bird, that the song did not say “Poop on my lawn chair!” or “Make my small dogs bark!”. You really should reconsider your agenda for the day.

When Geordie was a puppy, he had a bird friend: The Faux-hawk Robin. This bird had a peculiar feather-do that made him easy to spot. After that first friend, Geordie was never playful with birds again. I am glad I got to watch the two of them together.

Years ago I drew a sketch of Geordie when he was little. I thought Toby also deserved a picture that actually kind of looked like him instead of the puppy in the green sweater as I often depict him. So, this is my Toby…the bane of Geordie’s existence. Mwahahaha!

…which really took place on a Monday…but I am posting about it on a Friday!
I got fortunate in that Toby decided to throw one of these fits in front of the vet. She was taken aback at the viciousness of his outburst. She said that this is simply what he does when he doesn’t get his way, and no one should give in to him or he will learn that this is how he gets what he wants. The down side? This

I was feeling happy that my little monster had largely outgrown this phase, until today. Then ol’ crabby pants showed up again to say that he did not appreciate the hug I gave him after supper. Looks like I had better keep the Band Aids handy.

Well, here is it! Available at Amazon, if you would like to check it out.
Putting this book together was a tremendous amount of fun, and I am greatly looking forward to doing another. I know a lot of bloggers out there would love to be discovered by a real publisher, but if there is any project that is dear to your heart – that you would love to be able to hold in your hands right now – then I encourage you to give this a try! It is very satisfying to have creative control of everything from the dimensions of the book to the font(s) to the cover art.
Go ahead and publish! What have you got to lose?
Today we submitted our formatted book interior and our cover art. They made it through the first review, and now we have to wait to be presented with a proof. After that, we either approve the book or redo the work until it is right. I am hoping that things are correct because after looking at this content over and over and for so long, I don’t really see it anymore. I can say that the pups are much happier now that I am not at the computer so many hours each day. This afternoon we got to play with one of their friends as well as chase tennis balls and flashlight beams.
And now we wait….

How the boys celebrated our time outside today.
OK, in reality I do make time for my pups, but it seems that computer work has taken over my life in recent weeks.

Playing with TP
is so very lame.
Each boring white square
is always the same.
If you want a toy
that is totally “bien”
Then the toy that you want
is the sac de chien!

Blue ones for puppy boys.
Pink ones for girls.
Just pull the loose end
till the whole roll unfurls!
The dog with these bags
strung like long strands of pearls
Is the luckiest pup in the
entire world!

(Shhh…don’t tell Toby, but Santa is bringing him gifts even though he has been naughty.)
